People desiring fuel-efficiency in a compact SUV that is fun to drive choose the Escape. The vehicles are also attractive inside and out. Two turbocharged powertrain options enable new owners to select the level of power that suits their needs.
With the exception of our Premier Ford Lincoln Titanium models, the SUVs come with an inline three-cylinder turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that generates 180 hp. The vehicles also have an automatic transmission with eight speeds and front-wheel drive. However, all-wheel drive is an available option. The SEL and Titanium trim levels have inline-four cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter engines that deliver 250 hp. The larger powertrain is only available with all-wheel drive. They also have the eight-speed automatic transmissions.
The AWD technology disconnects automatically when the system deems all four wheels do not require the extra assistance. All powertrains additionally have auto start/stop technology. When stopped for any reason, the engine automatically shuts down to save fuel.
