That’s up a full five horsepower compared to the last generation Mustang. The engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. While the EcoBoost isn’t the most powerful option in the lineup, it does offer more fuel efficiency, with an EPA rating of 22 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway, so you can cruise down I-495 without having to interrupt your joy ride for too many gas breaks.
Upgrade to the Mustang GT, and you’ll be getting a fourth-generation 5.0L Coyote V8 under the hood. This new version gets 30 more horsepower than the last generation’s model, bringing the figure up to an impressive 480 hp. It also produces 415 lb-ft of torque, giving you the power you need to accelerate quickly. Add on the available performance exhaust, and those stats increase to 486 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque. The GT comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission that puts you in complete control over your vehicle and lets you feel more connected to the driving experience. But if you’d rather focus on the ride and let the vehicle take care of shifting through gears, you can opt for a smooth 10-speed automatic instead.
#2 - Performance Package
Available on both EcoBoost and GT models, the Performance Package adds a variety of features that are designed with enthusiasts in mind. This includes a Torsen limited-slip differential for added control, wider rear wheels and tires for more grip, a front strut tower brace, and Brembo brakes in the front and rear. On top of that, the GT Performance Package provides brake ducts and an auxiliary engine oil cooler to keep all parts of the car working properly, even when things get hot. You can also get optional Recaro seats and an active exhaust for even better performance.
#3 - Cutting-Edge Tech

The front-end styling is reminiscent of the original 1960s design that Mustang fans still know and love. A wide stance, slender roofline, and short rear overhang make the 2024 Mustang’s shape familiar, harkening to the silhouette of a first-generation Mustang.
Eleven different exterior color options are available, so you can choose one that reflects your personality and is sure to stand out from Whitestone to Jamaica. Vapor Blue and Yellow Splash are two bright new options available for the 2024 model year. The car can be customized further with racing stripes and other graphics. #5 - Dark Horse
For the seventh-generation model, Ford is introducing a street-legal Mustang variant that’s highly capable on the track: the Dark Horse. This top-tier trim comes with its own unique 5.0L V8, which is capable of producing 500 hp. The engine pairs with either an exclusive TREMEC six-speed transmission controlled via a 3D-printed titanium shift ball that’s just as fashionable as it is functional or a ten-speed automatic transmission that features sport paddle shifters for those moments when you want to take matters into your own hands. The Dark Horse’s powertrain is further improved by the addition of brake cooling NACA ducts, a rear axle cooler, an auxiliary engine oil cooler, and more powerful cooling fans.
It’s easy to pick the Dark Horse out of a lineup of Mustangs thanks to its unique Blue Ember metallic paint, which looks cool and dark most of the time but glows warmly when light hits it right, giving it a dynamic look that changes throughout the day.
