Two highly capable engines are available for the 2024 Ford Explorer: A 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged I-4 engine that gives 300 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque and a 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine that yields 400 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged I-4 engine is standard for the Base, XLT, Timberline, ST-Line, and Limited models. The King Ranch, ST, and Platinum models come with the 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine. A Terrain Management System with seven drive modes is available to enable you to tackle the toughest roads in Brooklyn. These modes include Eco, Sport, Slippery, Normal, Deep Snow/Sand, Trail, and Tow/Haul.
The 2024 Explorer uses a 10-speed automatic transmission. Paddle shifters are available to help you convert this automatic transmission into a manual one. If you go on off-road trips often, you can choose the Timberline model, which offers off-road front struts and rear shocks, 8.66 inches of ground clearance, and all-terrain tires.
